Stunning and very unique table lamp model 'Arkipelago' by Finnish glass designer and sculptor Timo Sarpaneva (1926-2006)
Solid mold-blown glass base with bubbles and brass elements.

Timo Sarpaneva was inspired by nature which can be seen in many of his works. The influence of nature can also be recognized in the 'Arkipelago' series for Ittala that Sarpaneva designed in the late 1970s.
The works of these series are inspired by the rugged Finnish nature that at the same time possesses a certain softness. The name of the Arkipelago series refer to the Finnish archipelago of Åland.
